  14. WebRex[TM] in 2nd release
  15.  
  16. Chicago, 1/2/96 --- IT Solutions announces the second major release
  17. of WebRex[TM] -- Still the only commercially available object-oriented
  18. tool for building applications on the World Wide Web. The new
  19. release is available for Intel, Sparc, and PA-RISC processors, as
  20. well as continuing to support our customers on old black NeXTstations.

  23. Wide Web, using the IT Solutions WebRex technology to deliver
  24. dynamic, interactive content," said Ted Shelton, CEO of IT Solutions.
  25. "We have developed this revolutionary new technology to allow
  26. corporations, universities, and individuals to create an entirely
  27. new breed of applications within their companies, and across the
  28. Internet."

  39. WebRex can be used to:
  40.  
  41.          access information stored in databases (such as Oracle,
  42.          Sybase and QuickBase);
  43.  
  44.          provide dynamically updated documents;
  45.  
  46.          allow users to change data on WWW servers -- via their HTML
  47.          browser;
  48.  
  49.          and capture more information about how users are accessing
  50.          a WWW server.

  52. The new release of WebRex adds:
  53.  
  54.          full image map (ISMAP) support, within a WebRex application
  55.          (so mapped URLs can be changed programmatically, on the
  56.          fly);
  57.  
  58.          support for "regular expressions" in document control
  59.          configuration file;
  60.  
  61.          full Sun Sparc support;
  62.  
  63.          and wwtable enhancements including the ability to specify
  64.          a different URL for each row or a different base URL for
  65.          each column.

  67. In the next release of WebRex expect:

  69.          support for the Netscape[TM] API (NSAPI);
  70.  
  71.          support for serving Sun Java[TM] applets;
  72.  
  73.          additional wwtable enhancements, including support for HTML 3.0 tables.
